.....HAPPY 58th BIRTHDAY, MALAYSIA!.....

My beloved Malaysia turns 58 today. Happy Birthday, Malaysia! May you keep on growing from strength to strength.....

On 31st August 1991, when Malaysia turned 34, I had the honour of participating in the parade, held at Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur. My department, Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat Negeri Johor represented the state of Johor at the parade. I, together with the other members of the contingent felt extremely proud, needless to say. This nostalgic memory is certainly special and will forever be etched in our memory banks.....

VIVA MALAYSIA!

I LOVE YOU!

.....Memories of being a 'songbird'.....

"Those were the days my friend....." so sang Mary Hopkins.....

Well, during my working days with JKMNJ, I did participate in its extra-curricular activities. I was sometimes, invited to  render songs during our social nights..... So, I did 'nyanyi suka-suka' saja, as the Malay saying goes. To the experts, I may have sounded rotten, but I had a good time, needless to say. Those were fun moments, indeed!

I love music and I particularly cherish the meaningful evergreen melodies of the 50s up to the early 70s. They really bring back some beautiful and nostalgic memories for me. To this very day, I do tune in to Gold 90s' Vintage Showcase on Sunday mornings and Traxx FM's 'In Sentimental Mood' on Sunday nights.

.....Sigh!.....

As a person who has been blessed with several health issues, I do admit that I have to be patient and gentle with myself, albeit it has been very difficult most times. At one time or another, I have found myself to be at the brink of hopelessness.....sad to say.

Feeling sad!

Feeling awful!

                                                           Feeling rotten!

Feeling bored!

  Boo Hoo Hoo!

SIGH!

.....My Hobby - Sewing My Original Craft Masterpieces.....

Ever since my school days, I have always loved sewing and doing craft work. Needless to say, needlework was one of the optional subjects  I took for my SC/MCE examination in  1967.  During my secondary school years, I had already taken orders to  sew pretty smocking dresses for a couple of my teachers, namely Mrs Yolanda Parry and Mrs Sudhakaran. I have found sewing and craft making to be very good therapy for me. They are very calming, that's for sure. Hence, I'd love to share some of my original 'masterpieces' which I have produced within the last couple of years and of late.....Slowly but surely, I'll be building up my collection.....
