.....Our "Ladies' Only" Xmas Getaway.....

From Friday, 25.12.2015 till Sunday, 27.12.2015, my Princess and I went on a short trip to the Metropolitan City. Our getaway this time was "sans males of the household", and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, needless to say! The trip was devoid of the usual hassles, the usual sickening irritations and the usual blood-boiling whatever you may call it!

Anyway, we made our journey by bus, to and fro, and the three days were packed with activities like shopping, sightseeing, meeting up with Princess's friends and non-stop eating, but of course! In short, we had a well-deserved break from the usual mundane and suffocating routine!

I will let the following photographs tell the story.....

Friday, 25.12.15 - Our accommodation at Fast Hotel, Danau Kota

Shopping at Setapak Central

We had our Xmas Dinner here

.....An aftermath.....

It'll soon be two years (November 13 2015) that I've been unfortunate enough to be plagued by two very serious maladies. Sad to admit that I'm still experiencing the utterly sickening side-effects, which are totally mind-boggling and exhausting, that much I can say. Never a day passes by that I don't experience some kind of chronic pain or another. They have become so much a part of me these days. The indescribable exhaustion and chronic fatigue, the panic attacks and the irritating bodily aches and pain. Sigh! The list is endless, actually. And the icing upon the cake has to be the declining level of self-confidence and independence in me, which totally sucks! I especially dislike the fact that I always need someone to be my 'escort', whenever I need to go somewhere. And driving the car without having someone by my side is such an ordeal these days. Also, at times I do experience short-term memory loss. Now, this is simply annoying! Well, despite everything, and as always, I treat all of these as blessings from The Almighty Allah SWT. Who am I to question His judgement, right?

.....Our September 2015 trips to KL.....

In the merry month of September 2015, we made three trips to our Metropolitan City, Kuala Lumpur (11.9.15-12.9.15), (18.9.15-19.9.15) and (24.9.15-26.9.15). The purpose for the first two trips was to ferry back my Princess's "huge" belongings to JB. After about two and a half years, she managed to get herself relocated to JB. With effect from 14.09.15, she was posted to Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Johor from her previous workplace, i.e Hospital Kuala Lumpur. The third trip was a family holiday, which coincided with the school semester break.

.....You're really missed.....

Allahyarhamah Roseana Binti Abdul Rahim

(21.11.51 - 21.09.10)

It's been five years since you left us all, Ana. You succumbed to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia at the Ampang Hospital in Selangor, after falling ill for an extremely short duration . You didn't get the opportunity to receive the appropriate treatment. We reckon that Allah SWT loves you more and that you're in a better place now. May Allah SWT bless your soul always. AL-FATIHAH.....AMEEN.....

.....HAPPY 58th BIRTHDAY, MALAYSIA!.....

My beloved Malaysia turns 58 today. Happy Birthday, Malaysia! May you keep on growing from strength to strength.....

On 31st August 1991, when Malaysia turned 34, I had the honour of participating in the parade, held at Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur. My department, Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat Negeri Johor represented the state of Johor at the parade. I, together with the other members of the contingent felt extremely proud, needless to say. This nostalgic memory is certainly special and will forever be etched in our memory banks.....

VIVA MALAYSIA!

I LOVE YOU!

.....Memories of being a 'songbird'.....

"Those were the days my friend....." so sang Mary Hopkins.....

Well, during my working days with JKMNJ, I did participate in its extra-curricular activities. I was sometimes, invited to  render songs during our social nights..... So, I did 'nyanyi suka-suka' saja, as the Malay saying goes. To the experts, I may have sounded rotten, but I had a good time, needless to say. Those were fun moments, indeed!

I love music and I particularly cherish the meaningful evergreen melodies of the 50s up to the early 70s. They really bring back some beautiful and nostalgic memories for me. To this very day, I do tune in to Gold 90s' Vintage Showcase on Sunday mornings and Traxx FM's 'In Sentimental Mood' on Sunday nights.

.....Sigh!.....

As a person who has been blessed with several health issues, I do admit that I have to be patient and gentle with myself, albeit it has been very difficult most times. At one time or another, I have found myself to be at the brink of hopelessness.....sad to say.

Feeling sad!

Feeling awful!

                                                           Feeling rotten!

Feeling bored!

  Boo Hoo Hoo!

SIGH!

.....My Hobby - Sewing My Original Craft Masterpieces.....

Ever since my school days, I have always loved sewing and doing craft work. Needless to say, needlework was one of the optional subjects  I took for my SC/MCE examination in  1967.  During my secondary school years, I had already taken orders to  sew pretty smocking dresses for a couple of my teachers, namely Mrs Yolanda Parry and Mrs Sudhakaran. I have found sewing and craft making to be very good therapy for me. They are very calming, that's for sure. Hence, I'd love to share some of my original 'masterpieces' which I have produced within the last couple of years and of late.....Slowly but surely, I'll be building up my collection.....
