On this day, the 9th of July, four years ago, I had a nasty fall indoors, at the back door leading to the store room. It was about 6 pm, then. I'd literally fallen like a 'nangka busuk', as the old popular Malay saying goes. Initially, I thought that I'd just sprained my right ankle. But the result of the fall was that I'd actually fractured both sides of the particular ankle. The pain that I felt the whole night long, was really excruciating. The next day, I had it examined at HSIJB, (the X'ray and Ortho Departments), and after all the x'rays were done, my ankle was put into a full POP cast (knee to ankle), and I had to have it on for a full three months. What ensued after that was really torturous! I had to move around on a wheelchair, and bath times were the hardest. I had to securely cover my right leg with plastic garbage bags, before I went under the shower. It was really awful! I had to go for periodical check ups and x'rays, before the cast was finally removed in September 2016. To cut the long story short, my right leg has never been the same as before. It is much weaker now, and frequently suffers from excruciatingly painful cramps. But, despite all the sufferings I've gone through, I'm truly grateful that I'm still mobile, albeit at a much slower rate! Syukur Alhamdulillah. However, I definitely wouldn't want to go through that harrowing experience, ever again! Touch wood! InsyaAllah. Amin.
