.....Twelve years on and counting.....

Today, Sunday 16.10.16, marks the twelfth death anniversary of my one and only brother, Allahyarham Abdul Razak Bin Abdul Rahim. In the year 2002 he started suffering from Diabetes, which was very poorly controlled. He ended up with damaged kidneys and was treated at the Puteri Specialist Hospital in Johor Bahru. He underwent haemodialysis for two years. On the morning of 16.10.04, late Razak ultimately succumbed to End Stage Renal Failure. He was only 48 years old. He was safely buried at the Bukit Mahmoodiah Muslim Cemetery on the same day.

My late brother had chosen teaching as his profession. He had specialised in Biology and had loved his career very much. He had taught in English College (MSAB), Johor Bahru, which was his Alma Mater. His last post was at Sekolah Dato Jaafar, Johor Bahru.

Needless to say, late Razak was very much loved by his students and colleagues, alike. They came in droves to pay their last respects at his funeral. He is definitely missed by one and all. May his soul always be blessed by Allah SWT.

AL FATIHAH.....AMEEN.....

.....Just ventilating.....

I can't help but feel sick and tired of being stuck in this same old rut, day in and day out! I simply loathe this lifestyle of mine. I reckon other people, who're in the same age group as me, are better off living in their golden years.....doing the things they love to do, like travelling the world, far and wide, for instance. Their twilight years are adventurous, memorable and hold so much meaning for them.....unlike mine! As for me, I'm still slaving my way through life! Doing mundane household chores, that seem to be endless! It's really sad and pathetic! And being riddled with a host of health issues is definitely no help at all! Sigh!

.....In Loving Memory Of My Late Sibling, Roseana.....

Late Roseana was the second child of the nine Rahim Siblings. She was born in Johor Bahru on 21.11.1951. She had her early education at the Sultan Ibrahim Girls' School (Primary and Secondary) in Johor Bahru. Her tertiary education was obtained at Universiti Sains Malaysia, Minden, Pulau Pinang. She graduated with an Honours Degree in Bachelor of Humanities with Education. Ana, as she was lovingly known, had always loved to teach and her round of teaching duties took her to secondary schools in Pontian, KotaTinggi and Johor Bahru. Her last posting before retirement was at the Sekolah Menengah Taman Tun Aminah, in Sekudai, Johor Bahru.

Ana was a very dedicated teacher, well-loved by her students and colleagues alike. But then, it was very clear that Allah SWT loved her more. Hence, after a very short illness in September 2010, Ana breathed her last at the Ampang Hospital in Selangor, on September 21, 2010 at 7.45 pm. The cause of death was Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Her remains were buried at Bukit Mahmoodiah Cemetery in Johor Bahru, on September 22, 2010.

Ana's been gone for six years now, but we, her six surviving siblings still love her very, very much and will forever cherish our fond memories of her. May Allah SWT shower His blessings upon late Ana, always.

AL FATIHAH.....AMEEN.....

.....Remembering Malaysia's 59th Birthday.....

Today, the 31st of August 2016, our beloved nation Malaysia, turns 59. It is indeed something to be very proud of, because we have come a long way since we freed ourselves from the clutches of the western 'penjajah' or colonialists. Our independence is really something to be savoured, respected and guarded. We must never for one moment, rest on our laurels or be complacent. Our multi-racial and multi-religious society should at all times, work together to preserve our hard earned peace and prosperity. We should all embrace the 'Sehati Sejiwa' spirit. Yes! Malaysia Boleh!

.....Remembering My 67th Birthday.....

Thursday, 4.8.2016 was my very special day. On that day, I turned a year older. Six score and seven years ago, (4.8.1949) I was born in Batu Pahat, Johor. Since my very early childhood days, I've lived a life filled with many memories, both good and bad. My adolescent years were great; my teenaged years and my years as a young adult were even greater. My adult life however, has not been rosy and my golden years to date, have been interspersed with several chronic health issues. Nonetheless, I'm taking everything in a stride and living life, one day at a time. This 'Golden Girl' has hospitals/health clinics and a multitude of medications as her best buddies now. Despite everything, I always tell myself to remain positive and to treat all my health problems as blessings from Allah SWT. In short, I am strong but I am really, really tired!

.....9 July 2016 / 4 Syawal 1437H Mishap.....

Saturday, 9 July 2016/4 Syawal 1437H was a very memorable day for yours truly. At about 7 PM on that fateful day, I had a nasty fall at the back door, leading to the laundry area. The result was a VERY swollen right ankle. The accompanying pain was really unbearable. On the next night, I saw the Locum Doctor at Klinik Yap. (The delay in going to the clinic was due to the fact that someone was toooo busy to take me there). The Doctor suspected that I had fractured my ankle and asked me to go for further examination at HSA,JB . A referral letter was given.

On Monday, 11 July, Dr Leong at the A&E Clinic, HSA,JB examined me. He referred me to the Orthopaedic Department, where Dr Yong ordered that the necessary Xray be done. It was confirmed that I had two fractures on each side of my ankle. Soon after that, the temporary P.O.P was done. I had to come back for further examination and treatment at the Orthopaedic Clinic on Monday, 25 July 2016.

On Monday, 25 July, the full fibre glass cast was done. It cost me RM150.00. The next review date was fixed for Monday, 8 August 2016. Hopefully, after a month, my ankle will be properly healed and that I won't have to use the wheelchair and to hobble around the house anymore. InsyaAllah. God willing. Life during these past weeks has been difficult. Tears were so easy to come by, most times. But, despite everything, I'm truly blessed for this experience and the expensive lesson learnt, is that I have to be very careful at all times, so as to avoid unnecessary accidents and grievous hurt, in future.
