.....The 'Real' Yours Truly.....

Syukur Alhamdulillah, I turned sixty-four a couple of days ago, that is, Sunday, 04.08.2013. Quite a few of my pals and relatives alike, have commented that I honestly 'don't look my age'. Truthfully speaking, I've heard this compliment being uttered to me since time immemorial. I feel truly, truly blessed because it's a gift from, none other than, The Almighty, Allah SWT. Syukur Alhamdulillah.....Ameen.....

However, I am sad to admit that I am actually overwhelmed with a BIG and HUGE problem, so to speak. Despite my 'healthy-looking and radiant' exterior, I am, in the true sense of the word, being afflicted with several health issues and problems - both major and minor! I reckon I will have to face and tolerate them, 'for life'! Despite the seriousness of it all, I have resolved to stay positive always, because I have always believed that all these afflictions are, needless to say, Allah SWT's gifts for puny me. He is definitely testing my strength, endurance and resilience, beyond measure.....physically, mentally and also emotionally.....Allah SWT Is Great! Thank you Allah SWT.....

.....Feeling Blessed On my Special Day.....

Syukur Alhamdulillah, I'm crossing another 'milestone' in my life today. On this day, Sunday, 04.08.2013, I turn a year older - three (3) score and four (4) years, to be precise. I'm thankful and grateful for each and everyday that Allah SWT has awarded me and I live my life with 'not harbouring any regrets about my past' and 'not having any fear about my future'. Once again, Syukur Alhamdulillah.....Ameen.....

 Yours Truly

.....My Blessed Ramadan 1434H Gift.....

The holy month of Ramadan 1434H saw me having to undergo the Wide Local Excision procedure at the Hospital Sultan Ismail, Johor Bahru. The Surgery was scheduled for Tuesday, 16.07.2013 and I got myself admitted one day earlier. I was the sole occupant of Room 1, Ward 6B and I really relished the privacy and the peace and quiet during my three day/two night stay there. My surgeon was Mr Rahman, and before the surgery proper, I had to undergo the 'Hook Wire Localization' procedure at the Radiology Department. This process took four hours to complete (from 9 am till 1 pm!), due to the 'carelessness' of the attending Doctors and Radiologists. The session was a real torture, with a capital T, for me! Finally, at about 1.30 pm I was wheeled into the OT. By 4.30 pm, I was wheeled back to my room to recuperate. I had my fair share of nausea, grogginess and sore throat and luckily for me, they weren't long-lasting. The next morning, after examining me, Mr Rahman concluded that I could be discharged later that day. Syukur Alhamdulillah.....

Upon reaching home, I started to feel the 'aftermath' of the prolonged sitting 'stiffly and stock-still' during the Hook Wire Localization procedure. My whole body ached terribly and I experienced excruciating pain, whenever I coughed, sneezed or laughed. The extreme discomfort took quite a while to ease off. I'm thankful that my wound is healing well and slowly but surely, I'm back to doing my usual 'activities' in and around my abode.

During my short sojourn at HSI, I had the minimal of visitors, which was fine with me. I wish to express my gratitude to Mr Rahman and his team, to the other Specialists, Doctors and the Nursing Staff for their expertise, tender care and comfort. And yes, I've been instructed to go for my Review, one month after my surgery.

Syukur Alhamdulillah, I had a relatively 'smooth' ordeal, which I've considered to be Allah SWT's gift during this Blessed Month of Ramadan 1434H. Syukur Alhamdulillah.....Ameen.....
